Simple Trios for Three Bassoons

Description This set of bassoon trios was designed to assist beginner players to progress in a group situation. Drawn from many musical genres, these pieces give each of the players an opportunity to shine. The first bassoon is the more advanced part, the second and third generally are of an easier standard. Players of grade 1 onwards should be able to manage these pieces after careful practice. Bassoon ensembles are a most enjoyable form of playing, which give players the opportunity to listen to the other parts away from a band/orchestral situation, a most valuable form of practice. The next steps could include trios by Castil-Blaze, Weissenborn, Gebauer, Hartley, Milde, Nielsen and Schopp (amongst others).
